This year the kids had two ways to countdown till Christmas! One way was a sticker advent calendar that we got from The Bible House that was really fun. Every day after school they would add a piece of the nativity scene.
The other way we counted down was a chain link with 24 links that you tear off each day till Christmas. If Jack did the sticker on the calendar then Abby did the chain, and vice versa.
Christmas Eve means Baby Jesus!
Teaching the kids that Christmas is more than about Santa and presents is a challenge so we try and balance the true meaning of Christmas with things like this. God sent his only son to be born in a manger, live among us and eventually die for our sins. What a gift!
