Rancho Seco is a campground that's a half hour from Elk Grove. The Ibarra's invited us to join them for a 2 night stay. It's one of their favorite places to camp so we thought we'd give it a whirl.
The men and kids started with some fishing. Venessa and I stayed behind and caught up on US Weekly.
Justina and JJ. No fish were caught by anyone in the many hours of trying :( lame.
After renting a tandem bike in Lake Tahoe Eric decided to buy one on Craigslist. This was his first go around with it. While he took Jack for a spin Abby and I went on a ride of our own. Although she's outgrowing that toddler seat pretty quick!Of course Abby wanted to try it out too. She did great!
We had an awful nights sleep in our tent. The campsites were very close together and our neighbors were NOT observing the quiet hours! AND our air mattress had a hole in it and deflated on us! It was pretty tragic.
Jack and Eric had a soccer game at 10AM the next day and since we were so close the plan was to go to that and come back and stay another night. We nixed that plan after our terrible night's sleep! We came back after the game, hung out for a bit, made dinner and just stayed until we had smores! Then we got the heck outta there!
Abby had a small obsession with the Ibarra's family dog, Sicily. She was either carrying or walking the dog all around our campsite. She really wants a small dog of her own. She LOVED that dog!
Smores! One of the main reasons to go camping!
Don't we look like camping pros? We're getting good at it!
The Ibarra family. JJ, Venessa, Jeremy, Jeff and Justina
We love camping but will not be visiting Rancho again! Well unless we get a camper like theirs. They slept like babies!
