Eric and the kids headed to WA for Thanksgiving and I stayed behind to work at the store with full intentions of flying up to join them all on Thursday for the big feast. Well one thing led to another and I ended up staying home and bagging the whole idea.
#1 my mom was going to be alone for Thanksgiving
#2 my plane ticket was expensive but transferable
I worked Eric's shifts, made several plans with girlfriends in the evenings and the rest of my free time I tried to be productive at home. I ended up tackling a few house projects, read, caught up on my shows and slept peacefully without any interruptions. My mom and I had turkey dinner at Mimi's on Thanksgiving Day and let them do all the cooking and the dishes. It was glorious! Although I missed my family I kind of enjoyed the alone time. It was pretty awesome actually!
The real bummer was I missed my kids' first time in the snow! It's pretty unusual for it to snow during the fall but it sure did! Grammy took pictures for me though and I got several phone pic's sent to me from everyone. The kids loved it and played in it every day! I heard they didn't last too long and were quick to jump in the hot tub and warm back up :) That's how I would roll too!

Abby and Kendall
Love this!
They even did a little sledding down Uncle Michael and Aunt Debbie's front lawn!
Aunt Carole came over for a visit. She always has gifts for the kids to open, she's so sweet like that. Even though they don't see her that often they sure are fond of her.
They also celebrated Kendall's 13th birthday! She requested the delicious chocolate cake from Costco and I'm sure they all enjoyed every bite! That cake is amazing!
All the cousins...
...and the parental units. Looks like there was some shenanigan's going on! These guys are too happy!
Also looks like Kendall had some help opening her presents :)
Grammy loves her grandkids!
I called to talk to the kids a couple times but usually they were too busy playing with their cousins to stop and chat or to talk very long. I didn't take it personal :) They love spending time in WA and we try and get up there as much as possible. Even if only one of us can take them :)
Looks like a fun trip!
