So far in first grade Jack has learned so many new things, including to read! We're so proud of him! He's a great student who turns in all of his work and a good friend.

I get to volunteer in his class every other Thursday so I get to see him in action. He's very accepting of all the kids and they like to be around him. He's silly and happy during lunch and recess and studious and serious during class time. His teacher has her hands full with Antonio so her patience runs low with anything else. I think all of the kids caught on to that real quick!

When I'm not stuck in the office making copies I am just an extra set of hands for Ms. Van. Little by little she's been letting me do more with the kids and I really enjoy that. It's all my GreenHouse experience coming in handy :) I volunteered to be the Art Docent as well and my first lesson will be in December. It should be fun and I'm looking forward to it!

My hope for Jack is to be a kind, loving and compassionate boy. I will do my best to model that for him and teach him that the only way to achieve that outside of yourself is to have a personal relationship with Jesus. I also think it's really important for him to respect authority and learn from his mistakes. We're just starting our journey of these school years and it's both exciting and overwhelming to think of the trials and experiences we'll all face together as a family. We're so blessed to have one another!
