Camping in Lake Tahoe

The last official weekend of summer we went camping with the Gallardos, LeAnn, and the kids in South Lake Tahoe at Camp Richardson. We all had so much fun and the kids got so dirty! We loved the camp site because there were bike trails all over and we brought all of our bikes! The weather was just perfect and it was great way to end the summer.

LeAnn, Dee and I about to go exploring
Sidney, Abby and Isabelle playing in the little pink tent that Dee brought. That was such a good idea since you don't want them in your tent getting it all dirty.
Jack and Jeffry giving some big smiles
I LOVE this picture! All the kiddos (minus Calista) in their Dirt Glory!
Little Miss Calista! She was in that not so fun stage of eating stuff off the ground like dirt and rocks. That's why she ended up in the backpack a bunch!
Dee took 90% of these pictures and I love these of the little dirt balls!
Oh my goodness! For the love of dirt!
Jeffry bought a bunch of Transformers and was happy playing with them in the dirt. Calista came over to see what was going on.
Eric and Freddie were in charge of all the food and we ate well that weekend!
Jack and Jeffry playing a little badminton
The dining set up.
Two little girls enjoying some yummy ice cream
We spent the whole next day at the beach. We packed a cooler full of food, found a good spot to park it and just enjoyed the day.
I of course brought a bunch of US Weekly magazines because the only time I can read them is on vacation! It was pretty funny to find Abby and Isabelle reading a few while eating their healthy snacks. We all had a good laugh about that!
Cheese!
Jeffry and Sidney were the only ones brave enough to go into the lake. It was freezing so that's pretty impressive! Here's Sidney warming up in the sand.
Jeffry is the opposite of Jack! He's perfectly content just playing by himself.
Aunty helped the boys build a sandcastle
Smile everyone!

The kids had fun on their little island (aka rock)
Jack having a rare and intense Transformer moment
Three hot mamas
Three little ladies
Calista having a little moment to herself
This paddle boat was parked on the beach and Jack was all curious about it. The nice family that rented it was done and they let Eric take him out in it for their last 1/2 hour.
Beautiful mountain range to enjoy
Campfire time!
We had fun passing the lantern and telling "not too scary" ghosts stories and making smores of course!
Whoever was holding the lantern had to tell the story... Abby's turn!
Jeffry really got into it! He was very animated and kept trying to scare us and scream "Chubracabra!"
Isabelle just giggled and passed the lantern to her daddy. We put the kids to bed and stayed up a bit longer just talking and having a few more marshmallows :)
On Labor Day we had some breakfast, packed up and headed home. We stopped at Apple Hill on our way down the hill for some lunch and apple donuts. That made me very happy.

So much fun! We might need to make this an annual trip!
