After a week long visit after Grampy's annual So Cal fishing trip it was time to head back to Washington. However they were going to be traveling with some precious cargo. They invited Jack to go with them and the plan was for daddy to fly up there and fly him home. He was beyond excited! I was excited to have some one on one time with my girl and excited for Jack and all their fun plans! They left the day after Jack's last day of school. A good way to start off the summer!
Here they are, ready to start the 12 hour drive! We packed books, Legos, a DVD player and his DS for the long drive. They were going to be stopping after 6 hrs and staying in a hotel. The next day they planned to visit a Wildlife Safari that you drive thru in Oregon. Jack said they had an ostrich and giraffes come right up to their car!
All these pics are from either Aunt Debbie or G&G's Iphones. I had to tell them to send pictures often because we really missed our boy. He got to see Ryan play in a few tournament games and quickly made friends. He and Ryan were pretty inseparable from what we heard. I love that they are good buddies! From the pictures they sent he looked pretty spoiled!
They made a trip to Point Defiance Zoo where G&G are members and had amazing weather.
It also has an aquarium...bonus!!
Jack even went on a date with his Aunt Debbie. One of the highlights was VBS all week with Ryan and his buddies. Every day from 9-12 they were learning about God and after that, each day and night was full of activities! Playdates, YMCA, movies, mini golf, etc.Grammy took this picture of the Three Generations right before heading to the airport. Eric flew up on Saturday morning and came back with Jack Sunday night. A quick turnaround!
While Jack was gone his cousins were here. Jeffry missed him but not as much as Abby! She mentioned several times while he was gone that she missed him and wished he was home. It was really sweet. She even wanted to call and talk to him once and their little convo was too cute! It actually made me tear up just listening to them.
She and Sidney worked on this sign for Jack for a long time. They were so proud of it-can you tell?! It was dark by the time they arrived so we all had glow sticks outside and were making lots of noise. I'll never forget Abby running to the car, opening the door and getting in just to hug her brother. My heart swelled times two!
I know he will always remember this trip. I know I will be encouraging it to be an annual event :) Big thank you's to Grammy, Grampy, Aunt Debbie and Uncle Michael for everything you did to make sure Jack had a great time! XOXOXO
