I had a road trip planned with my bestie for my birthday but we couldn't hit the road until we first saw Jack receive his award at Friday's assembly. He's been working really hard lately and his teacher has noticed. He got all A's and B's on his progress report this trimester! We're so proud of him!
His buddy Darius got an award for the same thing so Tracey and I sat together with big grins on our faces :)Then we hit the road! We rolled down the windows, opened the sunroof and turned the music up loud! Really loud!
My birthday wish came true! Disneyland on my actual birthday! It was a fabulous day with perfect So Cal weather! We posted this pic on Facebook and said "Shhhh don't tell our kids!"
Lots of birthday treats to be had that day. Ice cream, popcorn and churros!! Yummm. I proudly wore my birthday button and enjoyed all 40 birthday wishes I received. Yes-we counted!
Dee and I kept commenting on how much we liked the new Mickey ears we saw all day. We had to try them on ourselves and take a pic!
That drop is legit!
The magic ended with an amazing fireworks show! Perfect end to a perfect day!
Jill and Flo let us crash their pad while we were down there, so on Sunday we drove over to the softball fields to see Gabi play. She is a stud and looks like a Transformer in her get up! She is one fierce catcher that girl-not bad considering she's one of the smallest players on the team!
After we watched softball for a while and they were losing 6-0 we decided to squeeze in a little beach time. It was windy and we lost our sunshine but it was nice to stick our feet in the sand and hear the sound of the ocean :)Sunday night was the Child Hope International Benefit Dinner right there in Long Beach where we were staying. We cleaned up and got pretty.
We loved seeing our friends from Haiti and being in a room full of people that love and care about Haiti as much as we do!
Jim and David were there also and we all sat together. We were just missing Lauren and Andrea from our November team :(
The theme of the night was Love Never Fails. Amen to that!
Our next trip to Disneyland will include our kids and a date at the American Girl cafe'. I can't wait!!!
