This is us after a fun little family outing. We rode to a nearby park in the early evening and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Eric ran alongside Jack to make sure he stayed out of the street and was able to manuever those tricky corners. Eric doesn't have a bike right now but I'm sure one is in his future :)
The bike seat for Abby is new in the last couple weeks and I love it! We've gone on a few solo rides while Jack's in school and even to a park further away in the neighborhood. She loves it too! Tonight when we had just returned onto our street she said, "that was fun mommy!"
Jack is pretty close to getting those training wheels off and works up more and more stamina each time we go out. He likes the competition of me behind him and looks over his shoulder often. I started to jaunt down some side streets just so he can get well ahead and then speed up to him and he thinks that is so funny! He hollers at me to "take the long way" so he can "win!" I'm interested to see how he does with sports in that area. It's too early to tell but I have a feeling he'll have his dad's competitive spirit :)
My favorite time of day is in the evening, after dinner and before bed. Since it stays light till 8:30ish we'll make the most of that time and hang out together at parks, in the backyard and scooting around on our bikes. Pretty soon and Abby will be on her own bike! So yeah, we're a biking family now!
