Abby was due for a 3 year check up and I did not anticipate any shots. Dr. Gill did recommend the flu vaccine however but said we could give it to her as a nasal mist. When he double checked her records he noticed she needed a 2nd dosage of one particular shot that there was a shortage of last year.
I didn't tell her. She took her nasal mist vaccine like a champ! She didn't fuss over it at all! (so shocking compared to her brother!) Next up was the shot. She saw the lab technician swab her arm, come towards her with a needle and.....that's it. Are you kidding me?! She got a sad face and said, "hey, that hurt." THAT'S IT!!! No crying, no screaming, no 2 people holding her down...etc. I really can't emphasize how different they are! really.
For the sake of record keeping. She weighed 29 lbs. and is 37 inches. She continues to stay in the 25% tile.
She was really cute during the appointment. She wanted Dr. Gill to examine her little doll first before her examined her. So he patiently listened to Strawberry Shortcake's heart, looked in her ears and eyes and then did the same to Abby. How cute is he?! Love him!!!!
aw...so glad to hear that Strawberry Shortcake got a check-up, too!
ReplyDeleteAw, that sad face is killing me! And, Abby now outweighs Ava. We do have some tiny little birds on our hands don't we?!
ReplyDeleteI hate the feeling I get before my kids get shots. Super cute that the doc game her baby a check up! Love it!
