Fishing with Grampy/Eric Waterskiing

Since Grampy and Grammy were here for a visit, we had to take them out on the new boat! We went out on a perfect summer day in September. Grammy and I packed a lunch for us all and we were ready for a day out on the boat.

Jack got a fishing pole for his birthday from G&G and couldn't wait to use it! Grampy was going to teach Jack how to fish for the first time-he was SO excited!

Here's Grampy showing Jack how to put the worm on the hook
Now we wait...
Abby was a little jealous of Jack's new pole. She kept asking "where's my pole?"
Eric got in on the action too.
It didn't take long and Jack was catching fish after fish! He mostly caught blue gills which have spikes on their bodies and they can prick you. Daddy handled all the catch.

Jack would scream with excitement when he got a fish on the line and just laugh while he reeled it in. It was really fun to watch him have such a good time. I didn't get any pictures of Grammy or myself-I guess we were just the photographers that day.

Here's Jack with one of the many fish he caught that day.
Both the kids begged to keep one as a pet. We appeased them and put one in a little cooler for them to look at and talk to. Jack named him "swimmer."
Dad offered to drive so Eric could ski. Since we've had the boat Eric's been the only driver so far. Dad has lots of experience considering he used to own his own boat and drive on this very stretch of the Delta back in the day.

Eric's ready to do this...
...and he's up!
Getting used to it-it's been a long time!

Impressing the kids with a big sprayand another

and another :)
and he pooped out

He did great out there! Another reason why getting this boat was a good idea!
We found another quiet spot to do some more fishing.
Jack patiently waiting for a bite :)

We fished for another hour or so and then headed back to the marina. It was a fun day filled with lots of memories. I think there's going to be many more fishing days in our future :)
