Jack's 6th Birthday!

Jack's actual birthday was on a Wednesday this week. I took homemade brownies to his class which aparantly is not allowed in most schools. My theory about cupcakes is that most kids only eat the frosting so why go thru all the trouble of baking just for that. Plus brownies are a favorite dessert in our house.

Since Jack's party is in a few weeks we asked Matthew to come over for a playdate after school to try and appease him. They played Transformers on the Wii first thing of course! They also played in the backyard for a bit and with real Transformers :)
A quick pic of the kids before we let Jack open his presents
We got Jack a DS! He was pretty excited to say the least :) He got a few games from family members and he's been enjoying it a ton! It's also nice to have something to take away for bad behavior :)
One of our birthday traditions is the birthday boy/girl gets to pick whatever they want for dinner. Jack picked In and Out which is not shocking since he would have it every day if he could! He eats a whole cheeseburger and half of Abby's these days. It still shocks me that the kid we used to beg to take 2 more bites now eats more than me!

Another tradition in our family is a birthday donut run! Daddy went to get him one in the morning but he wanted to save it for later. So it became dessert :)
He told me he wants a #6 candle for his party, not 6 candles. Whatever.
My sweet little boy is growing up so fast. I still remember the day he was born like it was yesterday. I talked to him about the day I went into labor with him and we looked at pictures of him in the hospital. It was so fun to tell him little snippets of the day and have him understand it. He's the best big brother any little girl could ask for and such a joy to our family. I love you Jack Jack!
