Abby's First Day of Pre-K

Abby started school the same day as Jack and only 1 hour apart. So that was a little tricky! She wasn't in the best mood either...even trickier! We signed her up to be with Ellie again, her BFF from the 3 yr. old class. As much as I reminded her she was going to be with Ellie she was still grumpy. Or as I sometimes call her, Crabby Abby or just CrAbby.

This picture took a lot of coaxing! Sheesh! The only way she would do it is with daddy there too. Can you see Eric laughing behind that smile? He was!
When I requested one of just her, she insisted on holding daddy's hand! Ugh! Can you say difficult?!
She's in Mrs. Gibbon's and Miss Hayley's class. They are the Panda's. First order of business when they arrive is to write/trace their name on their name card. This again took some coaxing. She was not overly thrilled to be there.
Just before I left I snuck this picture. She would not let me take one of the two of them. I was trying to match the one from last year :( No dice!
Funny story: Mrs. Gibbons asked all the kids to freeze but Abby kept playing. She singled her out and said, "Abby you too. It's time to freeze." She then asked them to put both hands on their heads. (actually this sounds sort of like a police bust as I'm writing it!) Abby very hesitantly put one hand on her head with the most classic Why is she making me do This face! The teacher again singled her out and said "Abby, both hands please!" Well guess what happened next? Tears. Yep, big ol crocodile tears! I had to say goodbye and leave her to straighten up and work it out.

This is picture is from Day 2 when she said it was ok to get a picture of the two of them. Well thank you Your Highness.
Here's the two little munchins last year, wow have they grown!
They go 3 days a week now M/W/F from 9-2. We're carpooling again which is really nice. Ellie's dad or Grandpa Skip takes them in the AM and I pick them up in the afternoon. I'm pretty sure I have the better part of the arrangement :) Then we meet up at their brothers' school at 2:30 and say goodbye from there. It works out great!

We're looking forward to a more academic year that gets them ready for Kindergarden!
