T-Minus a few Hours

We got home from camping on Saturday afternoon and the girls were leaving on a 9AM flight the next day. Their last day here they made a trip back up to their grandpa's in Grass Valley and then over to Nana's (here in EG) for a few hours in the evening. Everyone wanted to say their goodbyes.

When they were back at our place around 7pm, they took showers, laid out their clothes for the morning and played with Jack and Abby until bedtime! They knew they only had a little bit of time left so they played nicely together with no fighting or arguing.

One last picture of the four of them together! They gave each other lots of hugs and I let them all sleep together in the living room.
I took the girls to the airport and watched them take off in the air. I was sad to see them go and shed a few tears. It's always hard to say goodbye to them knowing it will be a whole year before we see them again. I think back on their time and hope they remember all the good things and not the bad. I hope they feel loved and cared for and that they understand how much we miss them.

Neither Jack or Abby woke up to say goodbye in the morning since it was so early. But they ask about them and wish they were still here. Jack finally gets that we just can't fly to their place but he wants them to be at significant events. First day of school, first soccer game and seeing his progress after swim lessons were over just to name a few. I know he misses them and the distance between us makes me sad.

Already looking forward to summer 2011!
