We planned a camping trip with the Ibarra's and the Patterson's back when we were in the Puppies class together. Venessa was Abby's 3 year old teacher and Kaitlyn P. was another student in her class. Us three mom's got close over the school year and said we'd love to camp together sometime this summer and we actually made it happen!
Abby and her little buddy Kaitlyn. I love this picture!
Kaitlyn's dad John brought several of his "toys" camping! He took the girls out in the Razor for some off-roading fun but came back with a flat tire :( Unfortunately the boys didn't get to have their turn. John said in the 4 years he's had the Razor he's never gotten a flat tire before. He'll always bring a spare from now on! Apparently this campsite is known for it's trails for quads and dirt bikes and that is why they like it there.
Here's the guys getting dinner ready. We potlucked all our meals which means we ate REALLY well! We always had tons of food and it was all good!

Sisters :)
Kaitlyn and Abby...little friends.
Ashley with her fairy!
Me and Ash. I love her so much, even though we clash sometimes! I'm so not ready to have a tween!

While the men were cooking, Venessa, Candice and I were chilling with margarita's, magazines and music. They loved my ipod ghetto mix as much as me!
Here's a pic of the Patterson's sweet ride. We called it the Pimp Mobile. The girls liked it so much they even slept with them instead of our tent! The thing sleeps 10 so they had plenty of room. Besides Kaitlyn they have a 10 year old daughter named Taylor. She became fast friends with Brooke and Ashley.
Time for smores!
Venessa and Jeff have 3 kids. Justina who's 10, Joshua who's 8 and Jeremy who's almost 6. All the kids got along great and had a lot of fun together.
In the morning we had a yummy breakfast of pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes and fruit. We ate all our meals together and talked about how we eat better when we're camping than when we're home!
Even though the Razor was out of commission, it didn't stop the kids from enjoying it! They had fun just sitting in it and pretending!
On Friday we headed over to Donner Lake (about a 30 min. drive) to spend the day. It was beautiful out! We packed our lunch, brought a pop up shade and chairs and just enjoyed ourselves.
The kids were brave and got into the freezing water!
Jeff was the only brave adult to do the same
Abby and Justina having fun getting dirty
Taylor, Abby and Brooke being creative with sand, water, pine needles and sap!
Super yummy dinner of ribs, corn on the cob, baked beans, taco salad and lots of grilled veggies!
Smores again! We have to have them every night we camp-it's a must!
Abby says she was shielding the smoke.
We had such a great time, we're camping with them again in mid-September! But before that we're camping over Labor Day weekend. It's becoming our new family thing and we're making some great memories together.
