Back to the USA

Saturday afternoon we took the ferry back to Vancouver and the plan was to head into Seattle to visit Pikes Place. Dean and Radora had never been. We were going to be cutting it close since we found out they closed the market at 5:30.

I had to document our car on the ferry. It was such a well organized routine. When they made the announcement to get in your cars and prepare to depart, that's what everyone did. We joked that in the U.S. people wouldn't really follow those instructions very well. We departed and arrived right on time, and that was with 200+ cars and trucks on board!
Waiting our turn to exit the ferry, one lane at a time.
Goodbye Vancouver. Until we meet again!
Our chauffeur :) His name was on the car rental agreement so he was our driver the whole trip.
When we crossed the U.S./Canadian border we all hopped on our cell phones to reconnect with the world. International charges were very expensive so there was no texting, checking email or Facebooking! Gasp!
As soon as we entered Washington state it literally started raining! We had perfect weather up to that point. Hello soggy Seattle!
Space Needle

Everyone but Heatherlee and I were craving fresh oysters (we don't do slimy things from the sea). Since we missed the market by about a half hour we had to find them at a nearby oyster bar. They ordered 2 dozen of them and loved them! Then we moved on to Pikes Market Sports Bar to catch another World Series game. We had to fight for a TV that wasn't showing the UofW game. Stupid Huskies fans!
We stayed at a hotel near the airport to catch a flight in the afternoon. We all had a great time and were looking forward to getting back to our kiddos.
I found these darling carmel apples at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Victoria and thought the kids would love them.
So happy to be home. So excited to go back!
